The story starts with two people working in the service industry who empathise with each other's struggles. Cam stands by Lili as she faces the tough reality of being an East Asian woman working in London. Just as Lili becomes increasingly uncertain about Cam, he unexpectedly brings up marriage...

Set Design

As in the story, Lili is a Chinese girl struggling with her future life as an international graduate in the UK. In this sst design, the designer utilizes an array of moving cardboard boxes to create the evolving narrative landscape of the story. As items and props are continuously taken out of and placed back into the cartons, they subtly reflect Lili’s unsettled life and turbulent state of mind. The monotonous colours further emphasise the protagonist’s sense of helplessness and her ongoing struggle, capturing the essence of a life in constant flux.
